When the countdown hit zero, the warm fall sky was suddenly ablaze with hundreds of sky lanterns just south of Erie, Pa., as the attendees of the Lights Fest let their lanterns take flight Saturday night.
More than 2,000 people attended the event held on the Erie County Fairgrounds to experience a sky filled with the lanterns, many of which had wishes for loved ones, drawings, and hopes and dreams written on the lanterns.
The Lights Fest also featured musicians and entertainers, including dancer/entertainer Ryan Rosinski from Cleveland, and solo artist Arthur Ward from New York. In addition to the entertainment, booths with food and merchandise were on hand, as well as sparklers to light up the night.
